Drs. I Gusti N. Sura Ardana, M.sn, was born in Tabanan on February 2, 1960. He is an artist and lecturer at Undiksha Singaraja. His educational journey began in 1976 at SMSR Denpasar, followed by his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts at ISI Yogyakarta in 1980, and a Postgraduate degree from ISI Yogyakarta in 2006. Notably, he has been nominated for the Jakarta Awards and served as an illustrator for the Diorama Museum of Balinese People's Struggle (Museum Bajra Sandhi Renon Denpasar). Throughout his career, Drs. I Gusti N. Sura Ardana has painted portraits of significant figures, including Bung Karno and Megawati Soekarnoputri, for the Agung Bung Karno Museum in Denpasar. He has also portrayed past Governors and Secretaries of the Bali Provincial Government, as well as former rectors of Undiksha. Actively participating in selected joint exhibitions both in Indonesia and abroad, his works have been showcased in various cities such as Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Banjar Baru (South Kalimantan), Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Cebu (Philippines), and Italy. Drs. I Gusti N. Sura Ardana continues to teach Fine Arts and creates artworks with themes revolving around national spirit and nationalism. This spirit has a deep-rooted connection to his father, I Gusti Nyoman Buana, also known as Pak Kancil (late), who fought guerrilla warfare in 1947-1948 against the NICA forces to uphold Indonesia's sovereignty. His dedication to art and the nation's spirit remains strong, making him a significant figure in the art community, preserving and promoting Indonesian culture and history through his artworks.
